Purpose of WP3

The objective of the IRC is to organize and manage a network of networks, while also planning a wide range of activities, including improving the management of the R&I funding landscape. Most strategic and policy documents recommend the inclusion of a broader range of actors in programming, performing, and implementing the STI partnership, it is therefore important to explore and propose ways of involving relevant networks of researchers and practitioners, as well as private actors, as projects and/or financial partners of STI initiatives. Private funders also need to be involved in order to increase R&I funding for FNSSA, improve its relevance and potential impact.

Objectives of WP3

      • Building and consolidating formal research and innovation cooperation between the EU and the AU on food nutrition security and sustainable agriculture.
      • Creating an operational funders’ working group to support the implementation of FNSSA’s R&I priorities by developing appropriate innovative funding tools and identifying dedicated and committed public and private funders

      • Connecting with partners, expanding the partnership with specific groups, supporting new alliances, and organizing the interaction with relevant initiatives and cross-learning amongst multi-stakeholders in order to secure IRC ability to fund long term FNSSA R&I activities.
